When you have multiple children, shopping can be a hassle, so we are very selective about where we’ll go as a family to shop for clothes. Pike & Rose in North Bethesda makes it really easy for us, because it has some of our favorite local shops: the Gap, Nike Factory Store, and Yogaso. It’s also home to iPic Theaters we love to frequent and several restaurants that make it easy for us to combine shopping with a family lunch or dinner out. In fact, we’ve had Easter brunches at Pike & Rose two years in a row: 2015 at Summer House Santa Monica and 2016 at Del Frisco’s Grille.
Since it opened, we’ve been to Pike & Rose at least once a month, either to shop, eat out, attend a show at AMP or go to the movies, so when we were asked to promote it as a Fall destination for family shopping — it was an easy yes. After spending the night there with other are bloggers and my family, we left with a haul of clothes and accessories that pleased all three of my kids — 8, 11, and 14.
Gap: The standard-bearer for classic, quality, and affordable fashion.
Thanks to Jessica from A Parent in Silver Spring for taking these photos of my girl and me while shopping at the Gap. She and her brothers each got a complete outfit: tops and jeans for school. It’s hard to please three kids three years apart each, but they each loved picking out their own back-to-school/Fall outfits.
Nike Factory Store: The top brand for sportswear at sale prices.
D is wearing Nike Dri-FIT Touch Short-Sleeve T-Shirt and Nike Free TR Flyknit sneakers.
My oldest son wasn’t up for modeling, but I bought him a pair of Met con sneakers for his CrossFit Teens workouts, high school weight training, and crew team conditioning. They’re his favorite sneakers to work out in, and he’d wear them every day if could.
Yogaso: High-quality and designer brands for infants through tweens.
Yogaso reminds me of the boutiques I used to shop at when we lived in New York City, full of unique and beautifully curated clothes, accessories, and toys. Although the inventory is upscale, there’s room for every budget, with bags, room decor, tech accessories, and toys that are reasonably priced ($5-$30), and there’s always a sale rack we gravitate to when we walk inside. I’ve also gone “half in” with my daughter (and her birthday funds) on a couple of splurge items she wears quite often, like a plaid capelet.
More fun at Pike & Rose: PIKEtoberfest 2016
On October 8th Pike & Rose will shut down the street and celebrate Fall with live music, children’s activities, food, a craft beer tent and more fun for the entire family.
Where do you shop and eat when you visit Pike & Rose?
Disclosure: I received three gift cards to Pike & Rose establishments but have shopped there often before and since then. No other compensation was provided, and all opinions are my own.
