Dawn of the Croods

The world’s first family is back and funnier than ever in this all-new original family sitcom! Eep, Grug, Thunk, Ugga, Sandy and Gran are taking the prehistoric Croodacious era by storm as they deal with modern-day problems for the first time ever in history. School, slumber parties and elections are some of the hilarious wonders of modern life The Croods are discovering!

If your family saw and loved DreamWorks’ 2013 family friendly comedy The Croods, you’ll want to check out the new Netflix original kids’ sitcom Dawn of the Croods, a hilarious prequel series that debuted on Dec. 24. The punny episode titles alone are worth perusing: “Caved & Confused,” “The First Picture Show,” and “Friday Night Liyotes” are my favorites. We stayed close to home during the holidays and had some extra down time to check out the show, and my kids thought it was just the right blend of funny, silly, and sweet. OK, so we didn’t watch all 13 episodes, like true binge-watchers, but the ones we did see cracked everyone up. The series features the voice talents of SNL, The State and A Different World alums: Laraine Newman as Gran (and the One-Eyed Amber); Chris Parnell as Snoot; Tom Lennon as Munk and Bulk; Cree Summer as Ugga and Ana Gastayer as Meep.

We have a fun Family Kit for one lucky reader who wants to check out the show with a little extra something on the side. Must enter today to win! It includes:

  • A complete Croods Family Vehicle decal to customize
  • A set of washable finger paint and rolled parchment to create your very own wrapping paper like the Croods did back in the day. This is a fun sensory activity and your family will love their finished masterpiece.
  • Your very own Dawn of the Croods ornament (a bone, of course)

Here’s a trailer for the Netflix original series, which launched on Dec. 24:

Croods do not back down from any challenge, including a fight with the moon!
