I don’t know how it happened, but it’s already the second half of August. Some of my friends in the South and on the West Coast have already had their kids start school. Since in the DC area we still have a couple of weeks to go (at least for public school kids), we are featuring a giveaway for one reader to win two new Five Star® products, the Five Star® 2″ Zipper Binder + Expansion Pocket and the Five Star® Expandable Backpack.
The backpack, which is huge, and the the 2″ Zipper Binder are best for middle-school and high-school students who need to carry the larger than average loads on their backs. Most middle schools require at least a 2″ binder, but I can tell you from experience that most 2-3″ three-ring binders, which are pretty pricey to begin with, will NOT last the entire year. I used it, in fact, for an overnight trip with my daughter and was able to fill it with two changes of clothes, an iPad, laptop, two water bottles, a toiletry bag, and the required electronics chargers. My son, who’s going into 8th grade, will have no problem fitting the Zipper Binder, his lunch, gym clothes, and more in the comfortable-to-carry backpack.
