As a New York transplant, one of the places I missed deeply when I moved to D.C. was the flagship Macy’s on 34th Street. I would go often, not just to shop in the world’s largest store, but also to eat and to attend various events throughout the year. Since moving to D.C. ‘burbs, I’ve been to several different Macy’s, and the Westfield Montgomery Macy’s is the one I find myself visiting the most. Did you know they also host regular events for the public? Next week, the Macy’s Culinary Council — a group of acclaimed chefs helping to spread the word about gourmet recipes through recipes, tips, and more — is hosting a special event with one of its celebrity chefs, Marc Forgione.

As someone who loves to eat and is still learning to cook (my husband currently does the majority of the cooking), I am excited to attend and see what expert tricks and tips Chef Forgione can teach this newbie cook. Already a domestic gourmet chef? Then you’ll have a chance to dine with Forgione, ask him questions, and get his new cookbook signed.
