Trapper Keeper

When I was in sixth grade (back then the last year in elementary school), I felt like I had won the lottery. I had finally, finally convinced my mom to splurge on a Trapper Keeper. Before then, I had owned a bunch of “fashion” folders, but without a Trapper Keeper, I felt seriously deprived. It was bad enough that I didn’t have a Nintendo or a Commodore 64 like most of my friends, but hello a Trapper Keeper was so much cheaper than either of those! Anyhow, I showed up to 6th grade with the Trapper Keeper you see above — the one with the rainbow hearts cloudscape. But the next year, when I started junior high,  the principal didn’t allow Trapper Keepers, so my rainbow lovely had to stay at home, filled with doodles and notes and journal entries. All I got at school was one glorious year with the Trapper Keeper!

Fast forward a couple of decades, and the Trapper Keeper is BACK. The 1 1/2-inch binder comes in red, blue, green, and purple, and features a brand-new “Snapper Trapper” that makes it easier than ever for kids to attach the accessories (folders, notebooks, planners, dividers, all sold separately from the binder). I won a blue one at Mom 2.0 in May, and my three kids all fought over it, so when they offered me a chance to give one away, I couldn’t help myself! I know how much I loved my Trapper Keeper, and I think my kids will find the new ones just as useful. Did you own a Trapper Keeper? If so, which one(s)? Tell us and enter for a chance to win a fully loaded binder for your child (see below for rules)!
