Jake and the Never Land Pirates

Disclosure: I received a copy of the DVD and some party items to facilitate this review and giveaway.

“Jake and the Never Land Pirates”: While my family was visiting for Thanksgiving, we had a huge age range in the cousins (2 to 18), so we kept the movies on the animated side. One day the “little cousins” (2, 5, 7, 9 and 11) watched “Jake and the Never Land Pirates: Jake’s Never Land Rescue” thanks to a party kit we had been sent to celebrate the DVD’s release. The kids took turns wearing the eye-patch, donning temporary tattoos, and eating bowls of popcorn as they watched the Disney Jr. show’s full-length adventure, featuring several themed episodes. The show, which my colleagues at Common Sense Media have rated “On” for kids 3 and up, is a sweet and funny adventure tale about Jake and his young crew’s journey to investigate mysterious happenings, missing items like a magical sword, and more on Never Land. It’s an interactive show with plenty of fun songs and engaging story lines. My 11 year old was mostly humoring his younger cousins, but the others really loved the show.

If you would like to win a copy of the DVD, comment on the post about why your kids would enjoy it! Deadline to enter is 9AM next Monday, Dec. 8.
