On Sunday, I had the opportunity to take my daughters to see Odysseo by Cavalia, and the three of us were blown away. You’ve seen the posters with the beautiful horses all over town — are you wondering what to expect? We were. It’s part circus, with aerialists and showmanship, part circus with 64 horses as the exclusive animal, and completely amazing:

The effects are incredible, including live musical accompaniment, an HD screen as wide as three IMAX screens, an 80,000 gallon lake, and not a bad seat in the house.

My older daughter loved the dance and costumes the most. My younger daughter is now passionately obsessed with horses. And I was enthralled with the tumbling drummers (drumming tumblers?). Every second of the performance is a spectacle, and if you’re looking for something exciting to do this weekend or next week, I know you’ll love Odysseo by Cavalia at the National Harbor. Tickets are available through November 17, 2013.

Thank you to the Cavalia staff who graciously treated several DC Moms families to an incredible experience on Sunday. We were not asked or required to write about the event but days later my girls still cannot stop talking about it.
