In the spirit of Thanksgiving and all we have to be grateful for this and every week, we at The DC Moms have partnered with GM Northeast to spread a little bit of cheer this holiday season. As we travel to spend time with our families this next month, DC Moms will be providing random other travelers with travel gifts, coffee, gas, and other roadtrip essentials.

Because, let’s be honest: roadtripping during the holidays can be one long headache. No matter how well prepared we are, how many toys we pack, DVDs we allow, or car games we play, there’s no escaping the terrible traffic (especially up I-95) and the impatience of everyone in your car (especially kids who like to ask “Are we there yet?”). So this year, when a few of travel Northbound to visit our loved ones, we’re going to stop for a moment and hopefully make someone else smile. Two of us staying back in the DMV are also going to drive around to give a little holiday love.

The contributor to launch our holiday random acts of kindness campaign is Elaine, who writes at Connor and Helen Grow Up. Elaine received a 2013 Chevy Cruze Eco for the long weekend as she travels to New York and will be writing here and on her own site about her adventures in roadtripping. We can’t wait to see when and where she stops, and what she’s giving folks on her trip.
