I am so excited to see this I can’t stand it. Petrushka is the story of a three puppets in a Russian carnival who comes to life. Petrushka, the clown who falls madly in love with the beautiful ballerina. Of course there are more obstacles than their general puppetness, there’s another man- err- puppet, the rich and devious Moor. This epic retelling of Stravinsky’s ballet by Shakespeare Theatre and world renowned puppeteer Basil Twist bring a new element. It is told completely by puppets. Amazing, ballet dancing, puppets worked by nine hidden puppeteers. The show runs March 16-25 at the Lansburgh Theatre.
